Quiltworkshops zijn er in Nederland ook veel. Het bijzondere aan deze quilt-vakantie is de internationale ontmoeting met mede-quilters in een prachtige omgeving in Frankrijk. Mooi en leerzaam.

Deze quilt workshops zijn in Frankrijk in een plaatsje wat 46 kilometer ten noorden van Limoges ligt. Het plaatsje zelf heet Châteauponsac en is een leuk dorpje. Het huis heet 'La Maison du Patchwork'. Het is goed bereikbaar bij trein en ook met de auto. Het welbekende Museum 'Arts et Traditions' is vlak in de buurt. Er is van alles te beleven. Het huis is op een zonnige plaats gelegen en het uitzicht is geweldig.

"La Maison du Patchwork, is in Châteauponsac a pretty town situated approximately 46kms north of Limoges in the Limousin, the 'land of a 1,000 lakes' and possibly one of the best kept secrets in France - a straightforward drive on the autoroutes and very easy by train. The widely acclaimed Museum of 'Arts et Traditions' is just near the Workshop and house. There is kayaking, riding, swimming, mini-golf and fishing nearby besides plenty of pretty walks. The house is in a high sunny position on the original ramparts of the town, overlooking the Vallée de la Gartempe and its Roman Bridge. Parts of the church are XIth Century. Limoges, also, has a great deal to offer. A beautiful cathedral, interesting museums, especially, the Museum of the Resistance and, of course, its porcelain. Oradour-sur-Glane, the 'Village of the Martyrs' is also worth a visit. "
